Linda K. Wellings Chair of Freedom Bancshares, Inc.
Linda K. Wellings was elected to Freedom Bank’s Board of Directors in July, 2003, and was elected Chair of Freedom Bancshares, Inc. in June, 2016. Prior to being named the Chair of Freedom Bancshares, Inc., Linda served as Freedom Bank’s Chair from June, 2010.
Linda has served as the President of MPL Corporation since 1986. MPL is a high technology company headquartered in Buckhannon, WV. Linda served as the Chair of the WV Chamber of Commerce and was the first female Chair in 70 years. She also served as Chair of the WV Commission for National and Community Service for two years. She served on the Commission for nine years and was presented the Distinguished West Virginian Award by the Governor on July 15, 2009. Linda has been a member of the WV High Technology Consortium for many years and has served on the Affiliate Leadership Council. She served many years on an advisory board for the Small Business Development Center. She serves on the Board of Directors of Mission WV and as a Trustee for WV Wesleyan College. She is active in her church and serves as prayer coordinator for First United Methodist Church. Linda resides in Buckhannon.
Sam Sedosky Chair of Freedom Bank
Samuel D. Sedosky, Jr. joined Freedom Bank’s Board of Directors in February, 2013 and served as the Chair of the Audit Committee. After serving two years on the Bank’s Board of Directors, Sam was nominated and elected to also serve on the Board of Directors of the Bank’s holding company, Freedom Bancshares, Inc., in May of 2015. In June of 2016, Sam was elected to serve as the Chair of Freedom Bank.
Since 2014, Sam has been the sole owner of Sedosky & Associates, PLLC, a Certified Public Accountant firm, in Buckhannon. He has over fifteen years of public accounting experience that includes taxation, accounting and consulting, with a main focus in small business and construction. He previously worked for CPA firms in West Virginia that focused in construction/manufacturing, banking and small business. He also has ten years of experience in the private sector, where he was heavily involved in production in the textile industry in the United States and overseas.
Sam graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
He and his wife, Amy, are the parents of a daughter and reside in Lewis County.
